Collaboration, Connection & Compassion
Trauma-Informed Practices for Today's Educators & Professionals
Stress and adverse childhood experiences affect students across every background and often show up in school as behavior challenges. When children are dysregulated, it impacts their ability to learn, connect, and thrive. That’s why regulation, connection, and a sense of belonging can’t stop at home — they must be intentionally built into the culture and climate of our schools and classrooms.
With our expertise in behavior, relationship-building, resilience building skills, and trauma-informed approaches, we provide practical strategies that work in real classrooms. You’ll walk away with tools you can use immediately and the confidence to support our students in the most compassionate and accountable way!

About Systems That Work
Training with Purpose & Intentionality
Systems That Work was founded on a simple belief: lasting change happens when we strengthen the whole system, not just one part of it. We know schools, communities, and families thrive when structures are designed to meet the real needs of students and educators. By putting your school community at the center, we help create organized, purposeful systems that are practical, achievable, and sustainable.

Meet Dinah, Co-Founder
My Story
I am Dinah Taylor, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Trauma-Informed Trainer. I am the co-founder of Systems That Work and Village Hills Counseling. With over 19 years in education, I have spent a great deal of my time learning, researching, and working with students who have challenging behavior. I have also trained over 3,000 educators and community partners in the area of trauma informed practices, classroom management, and the neuroscience of behavior.
I was first drawn to this work because I know firsthand what it feels like to be stuck as an educator and also a parent. From as long as I can remember, I have had a love for people and a strong desire and passion to witness the mental and emotional growth of educators, students, and communities.

Your presentation was extremely effective for me. I walked away with much to reflect upon and immediate changes I can and will make in my classroom. I am not one who struggles with classroom management, and still your presentation was informative for me. I hope others can see you have something to offer everyone. Thank you for spending time with us yesterday.
